Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone. This statement sets out where it stands, honestly, including what we have not yet tested.

What we have done

  • Colour contrast is measured rather than assumed, against the WCAG 2.2 level AA thresholds, for both the light and dark appearance of the site. Text pairs are held to 4.5:1 and interactive boundaries such as input borders to 3:1.
  • Every form control has a visible label. Placeholders illustrate format; they never replace a label.
  • The whole site can be operated from the keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is never removed.
  • There is a skip link to the main content.
  • Animation and transitions are suppressed for anyone whose system requests reduced motion. There is no autoplaying content, no parallax and no scroll-triggered movement.
  • Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel viewport, and scales when you zoom.
  • The page uses ordinary semantic HTML with a single, correctly ordered heading structure, and works with JavaScript disabled because it runs none.

What we have not done

We have not commissioned an independent audit, and we have not tested the site with every combination of screen reader and browser. Our checks have been technical and automated, supported by manual keyboard testing. We are stating this because an accessibility statement that claims more than it has verified is worse than none.

Known limitations

The logo is applied as a CSS mask. In a browser that does not support CSS masking, a text fallback reading CASEFORM is shown instead of the artwork. This affects only very old browsers.

Standard

This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. When the Caseform product launches it will be tested and audited separately, because a product used by vulnerable witnesses has to meet a higher standard than a holding page.
